Warwick Payne
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
BVetMed MSc(VetGP) MRCVS
AKA Mr P the JVP. Warwick qualified from the Royal Veterinary College London in 1998. He has spent his whole career in small animal practice gaining a Master’s degree in Veterinary general practice (MscVetGP) in 2005. He has worked hard to look after the animals in Eastbourne since 2008 building the current practice from day one with his wife Vicky.
He has an interest in cardiology and ultrasound. He also enjoys some orthopedic procedures, regularly performing MMP cruciate procedures and luxating patella surgeries. Warwick is also experienced in a variety of more complex soft tissue procedures such as “cherry eye” replacement and BOAS surgery (widening the nostrils and shortening soft palates in brachycephalic dog breeds). He says “I believe veterinary General Practice as a specialist area in its own right” “I try to involve owners as much as possible, explaining conditions so that we can take a co-operative approach to case management with owners to help them get the best result for their pets in line their circumstances”.
As Warwick holds a master’s degree in Veterinary General Practice, he is an assessor for the RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) marking examination modules in veterinary primary care. He has a passion for helping newly qualified vets in the first few years in practice to help them transition from theory to practical.
Warwick lives at home with his wife Vicky the Vet and his ever growing pack of Springer Spaniels although he would quite like his own Maine Coon Cat.

Vicky is our go to vet on dog breeding and behavior, as well as having her qualifications in holistic and veterinary acupuncture. She is one of only a handful of vets nationally to hold a qualification in herbal medicine.
Her passion is her Springer Spaniels and writing her blogs. If we cannot find Vicky she will be having a few quiet moments playing escape games during her lunchtime. Vicky lives at home with Warwick and given the chance can easily digest a good book in a day.

Transplanted over from the United States in 2018, Michaela is one of our newest team members. She graduated with her veterinary degree from Louisiana State University in 2014. She has been working in veterinary general practice ever since, both in Florida and West Virginia. Michaela likes general practice and has a special interest in exotics and zoo animals.
When not working, Michaela likes to read and enjoys watching movies with her two cats, Percy and Achilles. She also spends lots of time exploring to make the most of living in a new country.

As head Nurse Lisa goes above and beyond. There are not enough hours in the day for Lisa, if she isn’t busy providing unrivalled love and attention to our in patients and supporting the vets, she is guiding our team of dedicated nurses in their clinical skills.
You will also often see her providing first class advice at reception too. Lisa lives at home with her husband, her dog Tess and Terence the tortoise.

Gen joined the team as a student veterinary nurse in 2016 and qualified in July 2017, since then she graduated from the Royal Veterinary College with a BSc Degree with honours in Veterinary Nursing. Gen particularly enjoys medical nursing and if you bring a boxer dog to see her she will be your best friend!
In Gen’s spare time she enjoys dining out and going to the cinema, she lives at home with her fiancée, Betty the bunny and her latest addition Forrest the three legged kitten

Rebecca has over ten years’ experience as a veterinary nurse assistant. She has studied in animal care and qualified with NVQ Level 2 and First Diploma. Her entire working life has been spent with animals, before her career in the veterinary industry she in kennels and animal rescue centres.
Rebecca has a great interest in large dog breeds, the bigger the better! Her personal favourite is the St Bernard, one day she plans to have one of her own. Rebecca’s also enjoys swimming, cycling, going to see live music and visiting places of interest.

Alison is our everlasting Practice Manager, as you can see by our blogs she has a hard time trying to keep us in line. She has a passion for client care and will help with any problems big or small with staff and clients. At home Alison lives with her husband five children and den of snakes, in her spare time she likes to take walks with her dog Alice. Alison keeps the practice going.

Leanne joined the practice in April 2015 as a part time receptionist, after a few months here she really got into the swing of things and became a full time member of the team. Leanne likes to keep everyone well hydrated with plenty of tea … and if their lucky she may bring in her famous homemade cookies too.
At home Leanne has a variety of pets including parrots, budgies, rabbits and dogs Daphne and Boris. She recently acquired a stray guinea pig brought into the practice after being found eating bricks … We’ve named her Mrs Pigglesworth.

After returning from travelling Chloe decided on a career change, so she joined the Companion Care family in March 2016 and never looked back.
Chloe thoroughly enjoys working with the reception team, she is also keen to learn so would love to progress her career towards ANA nursing in the future.
Outside of work Chloe enjoys reading, photography & being an adrenaline junkie. She also adores spending time with her Dachshund Ellie and two cats … One of which is Sebastian the Siamese who you may have seen helping on reception in the past.
