Laparoscopy surgery (keyhole surgery)

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique to explore the abdomen with two to three small ‘keyhole’ incisions. We are pleased to have invested considerably in our team and kit to make minimally invasive surgery available to our clients.

Read Warwick Payne bio

AKA Mr P the JVP. Warwick qualified from the Royal Veterinary College London in 1998. He has spent his whole career in small animal practice gaining a Master’s degree in Veterinary general practice (MscVetGP) in 2005. He has worked hard to look after the animals in Eastbourne since 2008 building the current practice from day one with his wife Vicky.

He has an interest in cardiology and ultrasound. He also enjoys some orthopedic procedures, regularly performing MMP cruciate procedures and luxating patella surgeries. Warwick is also experienced in a variety of more complex soft tissue procedures such as “cherry eye” replacement and BOAS surgery (widening the nostrils and shortening soft palates in brachycephalic dog breeds). He says “I believe veterinary General Practice as a specialist area in its own right” “I try to involve owners as much as possible, explaining conditions so that we can take a co-operative approach to case management with owners to help them get the best result for their pets in line their circumstances”.

As Warwick holds a master’s degree in Veterinary General Practice, he is an assessor for the RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) marking examination modules in veterinary primary care. He has a passion for helping newly qualified vets in the first few years in practice to help them transition from theory to practical.

Warwick lives at home with his wife Vicky the Vet and his ever growing pack of Springer Spaniels although he would quite like his own Maine Coon Cat.
