Meet the team
I qualified in South Africa 15 years ago and whilst working at a central Tamworth veterinary surgery in the late 1990s I met my wife Sharon who is Companion Care Tamworth's practice manager. Sharon has always been surrounded by dogs and horses at home, has commercial experience working for two different Birmingham-based cosmetic companies. After returning to get married and work on our farm in South Africa for a few years, we returned to the UK in November 2003, and joined Companion Care to open our surgery in Tamworth in 2005. In my spare time I enjoy to watch and play rugby, however more watching than playing these days!
I joined the team back in march 2006, and now I’m a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse
Clinical interests: I enjoy medical nursing, behavioural clinics, and puppy and kitten nursing checks
What do you love about the practice and team? I love that we and more like family then colleagues we are close knit, we work together and are a support network for one another. Puppy cuddles make things better too!!!
What pets do you have? I have a 11 year old Staffordshire bull terrier, Ringo, who is a soft teddy bear, 5 year old Poodle cross , Max who is also known as tatty he’s like Tigger very bouncy. Then I have blue blue the angora cross bunny.
What are your hobbies & Interests? I love spending like with family and friends, and going to the gym when I can!
What makes you happy? Me time, spending time with those closest to me, Doggy kisses and Puppy cuddles
My name is Sarah I Started nursing in 2007 and qualified in January 2012. I started with companion care in November 2016.
Clinical interest : Within in practice one of my interest is wound management.
What do you love about the practice and team? I love everybody but I love Lauren the most!! I love that everybody is so friendly and approachable, and when is a busy day every pull together to get things done.
What pets do you have? 3 dogs Tilly, Anna and Polly, tropical fish and a ball python call Florence.
What are your hobbies & Interests? 10 pin bowling and roller coasters.
What makes you happy? Spending time with my friends and family.
Abby joined the team in 2013 as a registered veterinary nurse. She became our clinical coach for trainee nurses, Leanne and Megan in late 2015.
She enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a particular focus on in-patient care and anaesthesia. She spends her spare time with her family which includes Barnaby the rabbit as well as Eric and Rom the elderly kitties.
My name is Eleanor and I started working at Companion Care in October 2017.
Clinical interests: I’m happy learning new things and all aspects of nursing , and happy to take on new skills and give my all
What do you love about the practice and team? Companion Care were my veterinary surgery before being employed here. I love how from my first day, I felt part of the Companion Care family.
What pets do you have? Currently looking for a baby bunny to join my family.
What are your hobbies & Interests? I enjoy going to the gym, socialising with my friends and family and listening to music.
What makes you happy? I enjoy going out with family and friends, and spending time with my nephew
My name is Lauren and I started at Companion Care in September 2017.
What do you love about the practice and team? I love the team ethic within the practice, we all help each other out and always work together to provide the best care for the patients we treat.
What pets do you have? An African Grey parrot called Jake and lots of fish!
What are your hobbies & Interests? I love to travel and socialising with my friends
What makes you happy? Spending time with my family & exploring new places
Sharon is married to Eubie, they have three children and dog called Taffy. She loves walking and wine! Sharon has always been surrounded by dogs and horses at home, has commercial experience working for two different Birmingham-based cosmetic companies.
I began working at Companion Care in 2014. I have enjoyed getting to know all our amazing clients and their pets over the last 2.5 years. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family and odd round of golf.
Anita Truman, joined the companion care team in October 2012
What do you love about the practice and team? I love meeting our clients and their wonderful pets. There is always a real sense of Team and a family atmosphere at the practice. Always a kind, helping hand if one needed.
What pets do you have? A silly Cocker Spaniel named Hugo. He loves nothing more than a cuddle but has a lot to say for himself too!
What are your hobbies & Interests? I enjoy mooching around the beautiful villages of England and France and I love reliving my childhood with my youngest Son with his horse riding.
What makes you happy? Family time!
I joined the Companion Care team in October 2019.
I was and still am a client with the surgery and the whole team have made me feel so welcome, everyone is so friendly and nothing is too much.
I have 2 fur children, Sergeant my 3 year old Dalmatian and Nova my 6 month old rescue Crossbreed.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and going on days out and adventures.
I have been a part of the Companion Care team since November 2019. As well as living on a farm, I have worked at a boarding kennels and cattery since I was a teenager. I have a lovely dachshund myself called Ruby and a lazy ginger cat called Tom. I enjoy time with my family, doggy walks in the countryside, and travelling. I love being part of the Companion Care team as everyone here is so welcoming, always happy to help, and treat you like family.
