Companion Care Vets Weston-Super-Mare

Meet the team

Bobby CC WSM.png

Dr. Robert White-Adams BVSc MRCVS

Joint Venture Partner & Veterinary Surgeon

After qualifying from Bristol University in 2000 I worked in a variety of veterinary practices covering companion-animals (including two Veterinary Hospitals), farm animals, horses and wildlife. My work was mainly in the South West - but I also provided locum services throughout the UK, and even took my skills to the Caribbean with a charity neutering clinic. In March 2008 I opened my own veterinary practice, Companion Care, in my home town of Weston-super-Mare.

When not working I am usually found exploring our beautiful countryside - either with my tribe of dogs - or alone with my camera. If you open your eyes you will see something to lift you or blow you away - every single day! Capturing that feeling in a photograph is a huge challenge - different every time - and one at which I often fail. But then when it works...those are the special moments. And if I wasn't doing all those things - from preference - I’d be somewhere warm and sunny - about 30ft under the sea - blowing SCUBA bubbles at the fish.

Weston Super Mare Companion Care Kim Deane

Kim Deane

Practice Manager

Kim joined us in 2012, and has gained experience in almost every area of the Practice, from surgical instrument maintenance to reception duties, which serves her well now as Practice Manager. Kim balances this challenging role with her studies in Business Management at The University of West England…and spending as much time as possible under the sea! Kim is an Advanced Open Water SCUBA Diver, an activity she is so committed to that she recently specialised as a Drysuit Diver, enduring the dark depths of sub-10 degree waters!

Having been a client of ours long before she joined the team, Kim is proud to be charged with taking care of a Practice that’s taken such good care of her and her pets over the years.

Katie Thorpe Companion Care Weston Supermare

Dr. Katie Thorpe MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Katie graduated from Bristol University in 2013 and put herself straight to the test, working as an Emergency Vet at a local hospital, whilst also locuming! She now uses the skills and experience she picked up there in providing a range of care for your companion animals, and has a special interest in cat, dog and rabbit medicine. She doesn’t just love the small furries though – at home she’s kept company by Lottie the Springer, Henry the cat, Benjamin the (mischievous!) house rabbit…and ten sheep! It’s no surprise that “sheep” are on her list of hobbies, but she also loves cooking, baking and gardening.

Bethan Langridge- CC Weston.jpg

Bethan Langridge

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Bethan first began Veterinary Nursing in a mixed practice in Somerset in 2010 which lead to her qualifying in 2015… and then joining our team here at Companion Care in 2016! Running 'Puppy Parties' is an area of Veterinary Nursing that Bethan particularly enjoys and is something that certainly keeps her on her feet! 'Pickle' and 'Pudding' are Beth's 'purrfect' pets (two mischievous cats which also contribute to keeping Beth on her feet)!

Weston Super Mare Companion Care Lisa Owen

Lisa Owen

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Lisa graduated from Hartpury College with a degree in Veterinary Nursing Science in 2007. She has been doing formal training in practice since 2003, but her veterinary career actually started as a work experience student in 1999, working on and off through school and college, building up to university. She qualified whilst still working in veterinary practice in Weston-super-Mare before joining Companion Care as Head Nurse in 2008. She returned from maternity leave in 2014 and now juggles time between taking care of us and her daughter Lyla Jane!

Nicole Weston

Nicole Baines

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Nicole graduated from Bristol University in 2014 with a BSc Hons in Veterinary Nursing and Bio Veterinary Science; so it’s not too surprising to learn that her favourite areas of Veterinary care involve laboratory diagnostics and research. Nicole has a young French Bulldog to take care of called Louis, but when she finds time for herself she likes to spend it outdoors. She’s an all-round outdoor adventurer but particularly enjoys being out on the water in a kayak!

Lauren Green- CC Weston.jpg

Lauren Green

Student Veterinary Nurse

Lauren joined us as a Veterinary Care Assistant, and is now in her first year at Abbeydale Vetlink studying Veterinary Nursing. After working at Langford Veterinary School for 3 years as an Animal Care Assistant and gaining her Animal Nursing Assistant qualification, Lauren says she has finally started her dream job here at Companion Care training to become a Veterinary Nurse. She enjoys all aspects of nursing, but particularly enjoys in-patient care. In her spare time, she likes spending time outdoors walking her pug “Spud” and riding her cheeky New Forest pony, “Figgie Pudding”.

Sarah Butterfield- CC WSM.jpg

Sara Butterfield

Sara’s 25 year background in customer service and insurance, along with her love of animals, makes her perfectly suited to look after our clients and their pets. In fact Sara has recently turned her skills to the administration of our pet insurance claims, giving you one less thing to worry about when it matters most. Away from the practice, Sara has raised two sons and two Schnauzers - Tara & Izzy! And she enjoys walking to dogs, badminton, cinema, and socializing – all the better if it includes good food and wine!

Debbie Dyke- CC Weston super Mare.jpg

Debbie Dyke

Debbie joins us with a long and varied customer service history, encompassing time spent as an RSPCA Animal Welfare Secretary. She's delighted to have found a role here at Companion Care that combines her skills and passion for both animal and customer care. Debbie’s kept amused at home by her Golden Retriever Harry, who likes to “sing along” to the sirens whenever ambulances pass the house!

Denise Taylor CC WSM.png

Denise Taylor

Before joining us, Denise attended the Sutton Coldfield College of Further Education and studied the Advanced Secretarial course, going on to work in the NHS for 17 years in the Occupational Health Department, before moving from Birmingham to Somerset in 2015. Denise is married with 3 grown up children and an amazing rescue greyhound called Minnie. Denise loves music, theatre and weekends away with friends… and eating lots of food and drinking red wine!
