Meet the team

Heidi O’Toole RVN

Head nurse and practice manager

Heidi joined companion care, Prescot in February 2016 as head nurse and practice manager. Heidi previously specialised in chemotherapy in dogs and cats for 3 years at Liverpool University and then moved over to the intensive care unit at Liverpool university for 2 years. Heidi then moved to Melbourne university in Australia where she worked for the emergency and critical care unit. She saw a lot of interesting cases and had a vast learning experience. She has developed a wide range of knowledge and transfers it to her role at Prescot. She has a passion for felines and will help your cat feel at ease when they are at the practice. Heidi is currently completing a diploma in advanced feline nursing with the ISFM. Heidi also enjoys intensive nursing and will make your pet feel at home when with us. Heidi also will help you with any queries or problems you may have with your pets and oversees the day-to-day running of companion care, Prescot.


Brett Donnelly


Brett qualified in 2013 with a foundation degree and has a bachelor’s of science in veterinary nursing. He has worked for Vets4Pets for over 5 years and loves working with the great team here at Prescot. He is a clinical coach for the practice teaching the student nurses and helping them complete their portfolio for the veterinary nursing qualification. Brett is a qualified Pet health counsellor and runs various nurse clinics, such as diabetes clinics, weight clinics, senior pet clinics and behaviour clinics. Brett’s favourite part of his job is nursing in-patients and consulting as he can talk a lot! Brett’s favourite animals are monkeys, as they are a lot like us and interesting to watch!

Leanne O’Connor


Leanne started her career as a student veterinary nurse in October 2015. She is due to qualify this july 2017 after passing all her exams with a distinction. Leanne has a keen interest in rabbit welfare and hopes to develop her knowledge in this area. Leanne is also an excellent radiographer and enjoys taking x-rays. Leanne has the most handsome beagle named Hugo who is currently attending our in-house weight clinics as he has over-indulged on treats!! :)

Kirsty Thompson

Student Veterinary Nurse

Kirsty started her career as a veterinary receptionist at Prescot and took time off to have a beautiful baby boy. She is starting her career as a student veterinary nurse in September and we cant wait!

Samantha Ormrod

Veterinary Receptionist

Sam started at Companion care in Prescot in October 2016 after working previously in another vets. She has two dogs who are both rescue, Gwladys, a lurcher/collie cross and Ethel, a collie/gsd cross. She spends a lot of time with her dogs when she is not working. Sam is an avid amateur photographer and takes her camera practically everywhere with her. Sam is always found on reception going out of her way to help others and has recently completed a course in bereavement.

Charlotte Sas

Veterinary Receptionist

Charlotte got her dream job as a veterinary receptionist and started working at Companion Care, Prescot in October 2017 , She previously worked for Pets At Home, Prescot, on the shop floor. Her passion for working with animals started at an early age. She has completed her Level 3 Animal Care course at college after leaving school, before starting her career in working in several boarding kennels and catteries which she enjoyed immensely. With her passion always leaning towards animals she was lucky enough to have been able to transfer her skills working in Companion Care where she plans on furthering her knowledge in the Veterinary industry. Charlotte is very interested in dog behaviour. Her partner in crime is her handsome beagle called Cooper who is 4 years old. You can find Charlotte getting to know your pet and giving them lots of loves on arrival at reception. She is always happy to help and greets everyone with a smile! :)

Rebecca Hurst

Veterinary Receptionist

Rebeccas started at Companion care, Prescot in November 2016. Rebecca enjoys getting to know clients and their pets. She has a German Shepard dog called Cole and two horses. Her love of animals started when she was 4 with my first dog Sasha.
