Meet the team

Joao graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2006 from Lisbon Tec University, Portugal. After working for several years in small animal practices becoming a Joint Venture Partner at Companion Care Scarborough has been a very exciting, full time project. He enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine with special interest in surgery. Currently he is looking to advance his technical skills in orthopedics and “Keyhole surgery”.

Sandra attended the French Lycee in Lisbon, where she developed a special interest in science. She then graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Tecnica University of Lisbon in 2006. She has been working at Companion Care Scarborough since 2012 and is studying towards a PgC in Small Animal Medicine. She enjoys every aspect of veterinary medicine, including clinical pathology, ophthalmology and dentistry. Sandra loves going to the cinema, cooking and dancing in her spare time.

I joined the Companion Care Scarborough team in 2017.
I enjoy every aspect of nursing and making sure patients are as comfortable as possible. At home I have 2 cats and I enjoy reading in my spare time.

I am a Student Veterinary Nurse studying at the Royal Veterinary College in London and I joined the team in January 2018 as part of my course.
I have been looking after pets since I was very young so becoming a Veterinary Nurse has always been an aspiration of mine. I am currently looking after a Syrian Hamster called Gizmo who I adopted from Pets at Home shortly after I started working here, and he now lives a life of luxury in his new home.

I studied a 2 year course at Askham Bryan which lead me to finding Companion Care Scarborough where I am now part of the team as a Veterinary Care Assistant.
I have always been around animals from being a young child. I’ve had horses all of my life which has given me the inspiration of becoming a vet one day.

I joined the team in October 2017, I have always loved animals and had pets since I was young. I have a dog called Sam. I enjoy meeting all the clients and patients.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends, and going down to the beach.
