After originally qualifying as an optometrist in South Africa in 1994 John returned to university and qualified as a vet in 2002. He has worked in various small animal practices in the UK before he started at the Dunstable surgery in 2006. John lives with his wife, 2 children and a menagerie of animals including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens and some fish for good measure.

I began my career as a bird keeper at London Zoo, and after a few years moved into animal welfare work. While working for the RSPCA I retrained as a Veterinary nurse, qualifying in 1999.

My interests lie in preventative healthcare and avian nursing.

I live with my three cats, Shirley, Rita and Brenda, and my aviary birds.

I have a big interest in Clinical Nutrition and I am currently working towards a Certificate in Small Animal Clinical Nutrition. 
I also run weight clinics here. 
I have two rescue dogs at home, a silver lurcher called Maggie and a JRT called Brian.
