Chippenham Surgery Background

Dr Amy-Jane Blackmore (nee Boatman)

Joint Venture Partner & Veterinary Surgeon

BSc BVSc MRCVS

Read Dr Amy-Jane Blackmore (nee Boatman) bio

I am delighted to be returning to my Wiltshire roots having spent my early childhood in Calne with numerous dogs, cats, ducks, hamsters, budgies and not forgetting 'Lambo', a tame sheep who would bound over and jump up at me like a dog (ok, so I might have fed her biscuits occasionally). Since then, I have developed that affinity with animals and have learned a thing or two gaining a Zoology degree from University College London and qualifying in 2003 as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Liverpool.

My veterinary career began with a fabulous and inspirational cardiology and medicine externship at Cornell University in NY, USA which firmly cemented my future as a dedicated small animal clinician. I have spent the last nine years building a wealth of experience in first opinion small animal practice in the UK, mainly Worcestershire, Essex and London, and for the last eighteen months working in a very progressive hospital in Kent which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

I like to spend my spare time with my family and our rescued Border terrier who all keep me very busy! I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine especially canine and feline internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, rabbit medicine and surgery, and combining herbal and traditional medicine to promote animal health. Alongside other local vets, I hope to help improve pet welfare in the area and am looking forward to getting to know more Wiltshire pets and their owners!

Please come into the practice and meet our friendly, dedicated small animal team. We are quite a small team and therefore we can offer excellent continuity of care to your pets. I promise a thorough and honest approach, at prices that are fair.
