I graduated in vet school in Lahore, Pakistan in 2 and then my Masters in Pathology in 2003. I travelled to the UK the same year and did lots of work experience. I then passed my MRCVS in 2006. I worked near Manchester for 6 years and the last 2 years as the senior vet, leading a team of 7 vets. I have worked in busy emergency clinics as well, so I am proud to say that there are not many things in veterinary that I have not seen. I love doing consults with new puppies and kittens but I love the time spent in theatre mending and saving animals. Soft tissue surgery is my favourite, including C-sections, naroplasty for pinched nose little puppies, and ear canal operations. I have done lot of emergency procedures including placing chest drain, and doing bloat (GDV) in large breed dogs. I am also confident doing knee injury procedures. At the same time I love time spent with geriatric friends and making their last years of life as comfortable as possible using all the latest research backed by my experience. My wife Faiza and I have three children - they keep us busy outside work hours. My Team at Companion Care Cannock, is experienced, passionate, and determined to be the best!

Hi, I'm Sophie and I'm the Student Veterinary Nurse here at Companion Care Cannock.

I have been in practice for over 6 years, previously working at Vets4Pets Walsall Reedswood until I transferred over to Cannock in 2020. I am currently at the end of my training with only my OSCE's (practical examinations) left to complete before I become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. I am due to qualify in 2021.

I have a huge passion for the care of animals and have a particular interest in in-patient care, both critical care and post-operative care, as well as an interest in laboratory work. You will see me in practice carrying out nurse consultations such as 2nd vaccinations/nail clips/weight management clinics as well as monitoring your pet's anaesthetic and caring for them pre-operatively and post-operatively. I will also be running your pet's blood samples/urine samples/pathological samples as well as caring for your pet whilst their hospitalised with us.

At home, I am kept busy by my three year old Ragdoll cat, Lottie and my two year old daughter. I enjoy studying for my Veterinary Nurse qualification and spending time with my family.

I look forward to meeting you all and your pet's!

Hi, I'm Destine. I joined Companion Care in March 2016. I trained as a veterinary nurse at Rodbaston college in 1999/1980. I have worked in both small animal and large animal practices with time off to start and bring up a family, I have had other jobs to fit in with my family but now that they are adults have returned to the job I love most.

I have 3 rescued cats and a rescued dog, all have their own personalities and bring a lot of enjoyment and love (though can be little devils!).

When not working I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren, cooking, seeing friends, going for walks on the chase with the dog and reading.
