Jane Balmain
Jane is the MD and has been with the company for 10 years. Jane has significant business experience in the UK and overseas. Prior to joining the company Jane worked for Vision Express and Regus.

Brian Collins
Brian joined in 2002 and became finance director in 2005. He spent 14 years with the Post Office where he studied for his ACCA qualifications. Brian then moved to a publishing company as financial controller and company secretary, and completed his ACCA qualification.
Alyssa Taylor
Alyssa joined Companion Care in 2006 and is Head of Projects – having previously carried out the roles of Head of Operations, South and Operations Manager, North. Alyssa previously worked in regional operational roles for both Travelex & B&Q, and prior to that worked in the commercial and property teams at B&Q. Having completed a Masters in Management Systems, Alyssa also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Management Studies.
Andrew MacLeod
Andrew joined Companion Care in 2011 as Head of Operations, North and has over 16 years’ experience in operating and advising service-based businesses across a variety of industry sectors including health clubs, restaurants, UK holidays and pub businesses. Prior to joining Companion Care, Andrew was an Operations Manager with Punch Taverns, leading a team of consultants and enabling entrepreneurial owners to successfully grow their own profitable businesses.
Mark Colton
Mark joined Companion Care in 2011 as Head of Operations, South.
Mark has lead teams in highly diverse and regulated businesses, including major heritage high street retailers and major pharmacy chains, as well as working in the veterinary sector with as a Regional Director with a large corporate and as a consultant in the private sector.
Graeme McConnell
Graeme joined in 2005 became Head of Partner Recruitment in 2011. Prior to joining the company Graeme worked as a Regional Development Manager for Specsavers, so has been working with the joint venture model for over 10 years.
Dave Tordoff
Dave is Head of IT and has been with the company for 10 years. Dave has spent his career in the IT sector across a number of industries including the RAF and then computer giant ICL.
Ian Monteith
Ian leads the property and practice resources teams and has been with the company for over 10 years. Prior to joining the company he spent much of his career in the retail/services sector including Shell UK where he developed the petrol station distribution strategy for the UK.
Christine Shield
Christine joined as non-executive clinical director in 2007. Christine advises the board on the development and implementation of new clinical procedures. Christine is a member of the Council of the BVA and the RCVS and is an Honorary Member of SPVS.
Huw Stacey
Huw qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2000 and worked for a decade in first opinion practice. He joined Companion Care as Commercial Manager in 2011 having spent 15 months working in veterinary industry.
Jen Webb
Jen joined Companion Care Vets in 2010 as Marketing Manager. Jen’s background lies in customer recruitment and retention. Prior to joining the business Jen worked for membership organisation the NFU, as well as in financial services for Barclaycard.
