Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated from The University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria, in 1998. After a short time in practice I came to England to work first at the PDSA in London before moving into mixed practice in Norfolk. In 2001 I joined a practice in Salisbury where I was in charge of the surgical department. In 2007 I joined Companion Care and opened the Winchester vet surgery. Whilst enjoying all aspects of surgery I particularly like orthopaedics and reconstructive surgery. After the surgery has grown so well over the last 6 years I decided to open a second practice in Andover with 2 colleagues. At home I like to spend time with my wife and 2 children. We have a Labrador called Josie, and a cat called Lillie.
Martina Eyre-Brook

Veterinary Surgeon
Martina has recently joined the team as our second veterinary surgeon. She has been a small animal vet for 10 years in Germany and moved to England in 2008. She particularly enjoys the medical aspects of the profession and specialises in Imaging Diagnostics, for example Ultrasound and Xray and as well dental treatment & animal behaviourism. At home life revolves aroundbaby George, her husband and their 6 horses, Golden Retriever Elsa, cheeky Parson Russell Terrier Linsey and rescue cat Monty.
Shane Carmichael BVSc MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Shane graduated from Melbourne University in 1999 and moved to the UK in 2002. he enjoys small animal work and has a particular interest in surgery. He spends his spare time chasing after his 3 year old son and renovating. Generally Shane works one weekend a month, and covers Finn and Martina's holidays.
Aimee King BVetMed MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Aimée has recently graduated from The Royal Veterinary College, London. So far she likes all aspects of being a vet and is enjoying improving and learning new skills. Particular areas of interest are dermatology, neurology and feline medicine. She owns a crossbreed rescue dog called Charlie and loves taking him on long walks in the countryside. In her spare time she enjoys baking, watching sport and swimming.
Tomasz Nizio
MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Tomasz graduated from The University of Life Science (Warsaw) in 2005. After 4 years working as a small animal vet in his hometown he came to England.
Before he joined our team he worked for a year and a half in Southampton. He enjoys all aspects of being a vet but loves internal medicine.
He is married to lovely Justyna and they are the happy owners of 2 cats Abi and Neo.
Lindsay Knight RVN, A1, V1, NCert (BDev)
Senior Veterinary Nurse
Lindsay has been working in small animal veterinary practice ever since she left school. She qualified in 2002, and has worked in several different small animal clinics in the South. She also has the A1 Assessor Award, and is a Clinical Coach which means she can assess student nurses in practice. She spent 3 years teaching veterinary nursing at Sparsholt College before joining Winchester Companion Care in 2008. Lindsay enjoys all areas of nursing, especially anaesthesia. At home she enjoys spending time with her son Thomas and cat Jasper also reading, gardening, cooking and swimming.
Charley Warren

Veterinary Nurse
Charley has been at Companion Care Winchester ever since it opened in 2007. She has recently qualified as a Veterinary Nurse and is enjoying developing our nurse clinics. Outside work Charley enjoys walking her two dogs – Bailey the Dalmatian and Barney the Labrador. She also enjoys socialising, going to the gym and shopping!
India Shaw
Student Veterinary Nurse
India started with Companion Care, Winchester as a kennel assistant. She was quickly promoted to Nurse Assistant, and has now started training to become at Veterinary Nurse. At home she has a Burmese cat called Pippa, and Katie the Dalmatian who often comes to work with India. When time allows India enjoys sewing, and it currently making her own wedding dress!
Sian Richards
Student Nurse
Sian has recently joined the team as kennel assistant. She has been volunteering at the Greyhound Trust, and hopes to become a Veterinary Nurse. At home Sian has four cats, Muffin, Scrumpy, Amber and Mitzi and two rabbits, Bilbo and Blossom. When she is not busy looking after them she enjoys sewing, knitting and crafting.
Fiona Farrington
Veterinary Care Assistant
Fiona has joined us from working in the Pets at Home store. Previously she has studied the Advanced Diploma in Animal management at Sparsholt College. She has two cats at home Wispa and Mia, two rabbits Ava and Big Ears, two degus Thelma and Louise and a hamster Pumpkin. She enjoys reading, movies, socialising and cross country running.
Eloise Osborne
Veterinary Receptionist
Eloise is one of our weekday receptionists; she joined Companion Care in October 2009 after her maternity leave. She has a young son, Alfie, and two guinea pigs, Nigel and Colin. She enjoys baking and making novelty cakes.
Leah Houston
Veterinary Care Assistant/Receptionist
Leah has recently joined the team from Marwell Zoo and will be looking after reception most afternoons. She has a New Forest Pony called Leo, two guinea pigs Zorba and Moss and Lilly the cat. When Leah is not working she enjoys keeping fit and exercising, as well as watching native wildlife.
Cain Homden
Veterinary Receptionist (Weekend)
Cain is our weekend receptionist. He has two dogs at home, Cupcake the Great dane and Morse the German Shepherd. Cain is currently studying at University to become a primary school teacher.
