About us:
Originally an independent vet network, Companion Care was bought in 2001 by the award-winning retailer Pets at Home. Since then we have opened a large number of surgeries within the stores themselves, and we’re often referred to as the vets at Pets at Home.

We’ve grown to over 50 vet practices, and all but four of them are located within the Pets at Home stores. The exceptions are our well-established practices at Bournemouth, Cambridge, Ely and Pudsey. Although they are not inside Pets at Home they still have strong links with the local stores, and clients of these four practices and their pets can benefit from joint promotions.

All of our surgeries strive to provide the very best in veterinary care. They remain vet-owned surgeries, providing you with the local personal care you want for your pet.

Behind our doors you will find consulting rooms, hospital wards, operating theatres and many thousands of pounds worth of laboratory equipment and surgical equipment which is there to help you and your pet. 

So who are your vets?
Each practice is co-owned by Vet Directors; highly skilled vets many of whom also have specialised areas of work. Our network of vets share their knowledge and are able to help each other, and are constantly kept up to date with the latest clinical innovations. We attract some of the brightest vets in the industry. To them being part of a Companion Care Vet Surgery makes good sense because they buy into a practice which is in a great location. What's more, because all of their business support services are provided by Companion Care, this frees them and their teams up to be able to focus on what they truly love to do...looking after your pet!
