Your vet is Tavi Galla, DVM MSc MRCVS
Joint Venture Partner & Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Timisoara, Romania in 2004, and in 2006 gained a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Epidemiology. In April 2007, I moved to the UK along with my wife Larissa and our three Bull Terriers.
Between August 2007 and May 2008 I worked as a vet in a first opinion small animal practice in Doncaster. Before becoming Joint Venture Partner at Companion Care Vets Wakefield, I spent 3 years as a vet in Companion Care Huddersfield surgery, dealing with surgical caseloads and also working very closely with local dog breeders. In 2010 I enrolled for the RCVS certificate in Small Animal Surgery. My main interests are in small animal surgery, reproduction and dentistry.
I am also very much involved in the dog world, being a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder and member of ten Bull Terrier Clubs across the UK. I started breeding Bull Terriers in 2002, but also very much enjoy showing and judging Bull Terriers. I am a great believer in responsible breeding and promote highly the health testing for all breeds.
I am very excited to be opening my new surgery in Wakefield with my wife Larissa. Please come down and meet us, and we can show you around and what we have to offer. I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon!
Your vet is Larissa Galla,
Joint Venture Parnter & Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified in 2006 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Timisoara, Romania and in April 2007 moved to the UK with Tavi and our three Bull Terriers, where I worked as vet in the same small animal veterinary practice in Doncaster as Tavi.
After May 2008 until February 2009, when our daughter was born, I was doing vet locum cover across West and South Yorkshire. After 6 months maternity leave, in September 2009, I returned as a vet in a small animal practice, before becoming Joint Venture Partner at Companion Care Wakefield.
I enjoy all aspects of veterinary work, with a particular interest in medical cases. Together with Tavi I am a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder and joint member of ten Bull Terrier Clubs across the UK.Please come down and meet us in our new surgery, we look forward to welcoming you and your pets!
I have always had a desire to work with animals and find my job very interesting. I qualified as a registered Veterinary Nurse in 2008 and have worked in practice for over 8 years. Working at Companion Care Wakefield can be hard work but it is also very rewarding. I work with a great team who want the best for our clients and their pets. I like to help the local charities, from donations, to pointing people in the right direction for help with their pets, and even taking home many a stray to care for! I have a particular interest in guinea pigs, rabbits, exotics and cats-having had many of my own over the years. In my spare time I enjoy long walks, socializing with friends and family and going on holidays!
Bethany has worked in the veterinary field since 2003 when she gained a position at a training practice in Leeds going on to qualify as a veterinary nurse in 2008.
Originally from Cornwall Bethany has spent time living in Dubai and France before relocating to West Yorkshire in 2003, prior to this she has worked in the hospitality industry in the UK and France in holiday parks and Ski resort hotels, with her job description even included dressing up as the holiday park mascot, a giant pirate rabbit!
Bethany has a domestic shorthair cat Meeko, a Labrador Collie Cross Jasper, he regularly makes the 7 hour trip with her down to Cornwall to visit family and he loves running up and down the beach although is not fan of swimming!
I worked as a Veterinary Nurse Assistant for just over a year at a busy small animal practice. Before that I studied a National Diploma and a Foundation Degree in Animal Management. Throughout College and University I have had the opportunity to work in various animal practice including dog groomer’s and pet shops. I have always been interested in animals and their welfare, trying to make a difference in an animal’s life. Joining Companion Care will give me the opportunity to progress and hopefully become a qualified Veterinary Nurse. In my spare time I love to exercise and socialise through Zumba. Currently have a rabbit called Jet and a slightly overweight crossbreed dog at home called Diesel undergoing weight management.

I have worked in the human medical field as a receptionist both here and in Canada for a number of years. I have never worked with animals before and already I much prefer it. I've been married to James for 16 years and have two cats, Paddy and Wilson. I love listening to music and going to concerts. I also enjoy watching comedy.
