Veterinary Nurse

Main purpose of job

Assist with the day to day organisation of the practice with emphasis on providing a professional service to the clients and their pets and assist in maximising turnover and profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the laboratory equipment, including the maintenance of the machines and ordering of the disposable equipment. Assist with the administration associated with this operation.

• Assist with the production of radiographs, implementing the correct maintenance protocol. Assist with the maintenance of all surgical equipment in line with recommendations, ordering supplies when required.

• Arrange Puppy Parties and Nurses Clinics, keeping records to monitor success.

• Follow the procedure for the Pet Passport Scheme, communicating relevant information to the JVP and/or Veterinary Surgeon.

• Implement the Student Nurse Training in line with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgery working with Student Nurses to encourage their development.

• Work with other members of the team to ensure that the practice and reception areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and are presentable at all times, tidying, sweeping, mopping where necessary.

• Ensure maximum client satisfaction by responding to and anticipating client / colleague requirements in a friendly and efficient manner so providing a consistently high level of service.

• Adherence to all Company policies and procedures.

Skills and Knowledge:
• Veterinary Nursing NVQ Level 3
• A1 Assessor Award
• Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook
