Your vet is Tom Maunder BVM&S MRCVS
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified as a vet surgeon in 2001 from Edinburgh University. For the last 8 years I have worked in Devon and Cornwall, initially doing mixed animal practice then specialising in small animals. I am particularly interested in diagnostic imaging and surgery.
I became sole partner at Truro Companion Care in 2008 and I’m supported by a fantastic team of vets, nurses and receptionists, including my wife Kathryn who is a nurse. Kathryn and I have 3 children and 3 pets (Meg a lurcher, Douglas a Jack Russell and Poppet the cat). In my spare time I love playing with the kids, surfing and rock climbing.
Melanie Tyler BVetMed MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Melanie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1999 and has worked in small animal practices across the UK ever since. In 2005 she undertook her General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. Melanie is particularly interested in feline medicine, behaviour and dentistry. Outside of work she has three Abyssinian cats - Seymour, Dorabella and Leo and her big passion is wildlife conservation and photography. In 2008 she took part in a 6-day sponsored trek across a game reserve in South Africa, facing wild lionesses, rhinos and surviving an encounter with an angry bull elephant. In 2009 she again headed to Africa this time for voluntary work with cheetahs and lions. Her less extreme pursuits are swimming, walking, music and art, and finding ways to entertain and enrich the lives of my indoor cats.
