I qualified in South Africa 15 years ago and whilst working at a central Tamworth veterinary surgery in the late 1990s I met my wife Sharon who is Companion Care Tamworth's practice manager. Sharon has always been surrounded by dogs and horses at home, has commercial experience working for two different Birmingham-based cosmetic companies. After returning to get married and work on our farm in South Africa for a few years, we returned to the UK in November 2003, and joined Companion Care to open our surgery in Tamworth in 2005. In my spare time I enjoy to watch and play rugby, however more watching than playing these days!
Maggie Ruszczyk MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Maggie qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2007 in Poland. Soon after graduating she moved from her home town of Sosnowiec to England where she started work with Companion Care Tamworth. Maggie has a special interest in feline medicine, and also enjoys working with rabbits, guinea pigs and other small mammals. She is keen to expand her knowledge of diagnostic imaging and finds the practices' ultrasound machine very useful.
In her spare time Maggie likes reading, in particular graphic novels and crime thrillers. She also enjoys going to the gym, cooking (and eating!) and listening to live music.

Vet Nurse Assistant
Carol has gained a wealth of experience as a veterinary nursing assistant for the last 9 years, and has been at Companion Care since it opened in July 2005.
In 2009 Carol embarked on completing the Animal Nursing Assistants course and successfully gained this qualification in February 2010.
Carol enjoys all aspects of nursing and revels in learning new skills to enhance the care of Companion Care patients.
Carol's hobbies include hiking, canoeing, camping, badminton, tennis, cooking for friends and reading.
Leanne Cook
Vet Nurse Assistant
Leanne has been with Companion Care (Tamworth) since 2006 after leaving Warwickshire College Morton Morrell with a HND in Animal welfare & Business Management. She has two dogs Charlie and Ringo, and likes to Socialise and going to the gym.
Julia Griffin
Vet Receptionist
After years of working in retail sales Julia joined Companion Care Tamworth a year ago and is very happy here. Her main interests are foreign holidays, reading and attending Rock concerts! She has her own pet, a cat called Cleopatra who rules the household! Julia dislikes cooking, prefering to eat out!!
