Meet the team
Joao graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2006 from Lisbon Tec University, Portugal. After working for several years in small animal practices becoming a Joint Venture Partner at Companion Care Scarborough has been a very exciting, full time project. He enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine with special interest in surgery. Currently he is looking to advance his technical skills in orthopedics and “keyhole surgery”.
My name is Amber and I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020 with an FdSc in Veterinary Nursing. I completed my training at Companion Care Scarborough and have been working here full time since then. In my spare time I enjoy reading, sketching and playing with my crazy, one-eyed rescue cat, Clara.
Aleksandra Baran
Veterinary Nurse and Practice Coordinator
BSc (Hons) RVN Cert AVN (Dent)
My name is Aleksandra and I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse here at Companion Care Vets Scarborough. I joined the team in April 2017, where I started my training and progressed up. I have a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Dentistry) which I completed in July 2023. In my spare time, I love spending time with my 4 cats, reading books and going out for walks
My name is Emma and I am a receptionist at Companion Care Scarborough. I joined the practice in October 2017, I have been here for 6 years now. This was my first time working at a Veterinary practice and I am loving the fact that every day brings something different; with the bonus of getting to meet all the lovely animals and clients.
I have 2 rabbits called Yo-Yo who is a Lop and Dottie who is a Netherland Dwarf. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and kids going for walks along the beach and going to see the steam trains at North Yorkshire Moors railway.
My name is Christina, and I am a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) which means I get to help to care for animals all day. I studied animal management at Askham Bryan College and have gained my level 2 diploma. I started my career here at Companion Care Scarborough just a few months ago which I have been very excited about as I have a passion for animals and love being able to care for them. You can also find me working on reception from time to time as I enjoy the personal interaction involved in building and maintaining good client relationships. When I'm not working I like to spend my time taking care of my own fur babies: I have 2 rabbits and 2 cats. My other passion in life is painting as I am a very creative person and I find painting is a very good outlet for my creativity.
Companion Care Scarborough is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
