Antony Bielovich BSc(Chem.Eng.), M.Ing., BVSc, MRCVS
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
Antony graduated in 1998 from Onderstepoort, South Africa after studying and working as a Chemical and Industrial Engineer. In 2001 he and Mackie started the partnership in the Portsmouth surgery. He is now also a partner in the Fareham and Collingwood surgeries. He has a special interest in exotic pets. Indeed at home he has snakes, a ridgeback and a border terrier.
Mackie Hobson BSc(Agric.), BVSc, MRCVS
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
Mackie studied agriculture after leaving school, and was a sheep farmer before returning to university to study veterinary science. He trained at Onderstepoort, South Africa and qualified in 1998. Together with Antony, he is a partner in Companion Care Portsmouth and Fareham. Mackie has two cats and enjoys the outdoors.
Lindsay Aldridge BVSc, MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Having graduated from Liverpool in 1998, Lindsay has a wealth of experience as a mixed practice vet. Lindsay has border collies, cats, guinea pigs and enjoys surfing and mountain biking.
Vera Teixiera MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Prior to joining us, Vera worked as an intern in a referral practice in Essex and, before that studied wild boar and deer in Spain. However, her heart lies in small animal practice and we are delighted that she has moved to the South Coast to be with us. Vera has 2 cats and loves to travel.
Adam Czapla MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Adam graduated in 2005 and worked in Poland in a small animal practice. He has two dogs at home, a German Shepherd called Flexor and a Dachshund cross called Achaja. Adam likes travelling, listening to the music and watching films.
Christiane Caspers Dr.Med.Vet., MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Trained in Munich, Germany, Christiane’s interest is ophthalmology. She also has a keen interest in rabbit medicine. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, reading and keeping fit.

Lucy Ede RVN
Clinical Team Manager
Lucy helped to open the surgery in December 1997 and her role is organising the veterinary nurse team, which involves allocating duties, regular team meetings, staff appraisals and training. Her clinical interests are dentistry, dermatological cases and nutrition.
Jessica Houghton RVN
Deputy Head Nurse
Jessica qualified in June 2011 after training for 2 years at Sparsholt College. In practice Jessica finds cardiology particularly fascinating. She has 4 pets, a dog - Ronnie, 2 cats - Simba and Rosie and a horse called Kkiss.
Donna Brotherton RVN
Veterinary Nurse
Donna has been with the team since 2003. At home she has an adventured kitten and a dog. Unfortunately her dog is the youngest puppy to be diagnosed with hypothyroidism. With treatment they’re managing the illness well, but Donna is thankful he’s insured.
Laura McDonald RVN
Veterinary Nurse
Laura qualified in August 2011 after training for 2 years at Sparsholt College. In practice Laura has an interest in dentistry and dermatology. She is our laboratory nurse and loves looking under the microscope. At home Laura has 2 pugs called Summer and Jacob.

Charley is currently studying the Diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Sparsholt College and is hoping to be qualified by Spring 2012. She has 2 cats and spends much of her time riding her horse Monty. Charley’s clinical interests include nutrition and weight clinics.
Paula Byng
Pet Health Advisor
Paula has over 22 years experience in animal health care. At home she has a husband, two daughters, dogs, rabbits, and a cat that keep her very busy. At work she enjoys being the Prep Room nurse and thrives when it is busy as it keeps her on her toes.
Melanie Graham
Student Veterinary Nurse
Melanie is currently completing the Diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Sparsholt College. Before this she completed the Animal Nursing Assistant course and passed with Distinction.
At home she has a cat - Milly, a Boxer dog - Flash, a husband and two little girls which all together create enough mess to fill a zoo. Mel is particularly interested in nursing senior patients and is keen to improve her knowledge of radiography and cardiology.
Jessica Cole
Veterinary Care Assistant
Jessica has joined the nursing team as a Veterinary care Assistant. Before working with us she completed a Diploma in Animal Management at Brinsbury College. She enjoys all aspects of her job but is especially interested in surgical cases. She plans to build on her skills and knowledge and hopes to train as a veterinary Nurse in the future. At home Jessica has 3 cats, a Siberian Forest Cat called Megara and 2 domestic shorthaired cats called Brandy and Lottie.
Grace Cunningham
Veterinary Care Assistant
Grace is one of our Veterinary Care Assistants. As an all round helper within the practice she provides enthusiasm, dedication and support for many aspects of veterinary and nursing practice. She has a great fascination for all of the varied experiences and cases she witnesses and is committed to ensuring that she can provide support and care to ensure the well being of all pets at the practice. At home she has a black Labrador called Nellie and a Tonkinese mix cat called Luna.
Lesley Talbot BSc.
Administration Manager
Originally trained in education, Lesley is a natural at organisation, great at producing our surgery newsletters and generally helps run the ship like clockwork. At home she has a Lilac Burmese rescue cat and a cocker spaniel. She enjoys needlecrafts and cooking (and feeding us!).
Debra Sutton
Senior Receptionist
Before joining us Debra previously worked in the leisure industry. So it’s no surprise that she’s great at welcoming clients and pets alike. She’s our practice insurance claim co-ordinator. Debra has an array of pets: a cat, rabbits and guinea pigs.
Anne Green COAPE
Receptionist
Anne initially trained as a childminder, but has since turned her attentions to being a dog behaviourist and trainer. She runs puppy classes at Portsmouth Companion Care. Outside work she gets involved with dog agility and obedience training. She has Cavalier King Charles spaniels and a rescue lurcher. Anne also enjoys riding her rescued new Forst ponies.
Dawn Turner
Receptionist
After bringing up her children Dawn is delighted that she returned to work, and that it’s work involving animals. She has a Rhodesian ridgeback and enjoys walking him and swimming.
Angela McKnight
Receptionist
Angela joined the team after becoming a mum. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, and also meeting new people. At home she has a bearded dragon named Henry.
Pat Hall
Receptionist
After a career in education and teaching, Pat is a now delighted to work with people and their pets as one of our receptionists. She enjoys travel, motor homing with her husband and Border terrier, Archie. She also enjoys doing anything practical, motor sport and playing with her three grandchildren.
Nikki Perry
Receptionist
Nikki is currently taking a gap year from college and will be returning to study Child Care and Child Psychology in 2012. She is a very keen horse rider and has been riding for five years now. She has two rabbits and a crazy old cat at home.
