Nurse Assistant
Main Purpose of Role
Assist the Partners with the day to day organisation of the practice with emphasis on providing a professional service to the clients and their pets and assist in maximising turnover and profitability of the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner using the in-practice database system.
• Receive clients and their animals for appointments, being sensitive to their needs and promoting a professional image at all times.
• Preparation of paperwork and confirmation of the procedure when admitting an animal to the practice.
• Comply with Health & Safety Regulations and local policy within the surgery.
• Working with other members of the team to ensure that the reception and other areas of the practice are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and are presentable at all times.
•Bereavement handling – offer physical and emotional assistance to clients in sensitive situations.
• Keep accurate records of basic nursing care, being able to confirm and assess the animal’s condition alerting qualified staff of changes.
• Preparing and cleaning animal accommodation in accordance with the needs of the patient and local policy, making sure the patient is safe, secure and clean and providing appropriate care as instructed by qualified staff.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Proven experience in customer service
• Experience of working with and handling animals
• Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook
