Your Vet is Barry Palmer, MRCVS
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from the University College Dublin in 2003 and have worked in mixed practice ever since, both North and South of the border. I have a passion for all aspects of small animal practice and am equally interested in both medicine and surgery and am currently working on my Advanced Small Animal Practice Certificate. At home, I enjoy looking after my two rescue goats and am allowed to share my house with six cats! I am also keen reader and trying to learn the guitar.
Your Veterinary Nurse is Christina Palmer, RVN
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Nurse
I am a registered Veterinary Nurse, and trained at the University College Dublin teaching hospital. I have over 12 years experience in nursing and have since worked in both small animal and mixed practice. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery, but have a particular interest in animal welfare and behaviour.
Outside of work, I am kept busy with my own pets which include 6 rescue cats and 2 goats! I also own a beautiful Irish draught cross called Trinity, who I often take to shows at my local riding stables.
I qualified from U.C.D., Dublin in 2002. I initially worked for 3 years in mixed practice but since then have concentrated on small animal practice. I enjoy all aspects of my work with particular interests in investigative medicine in dogs and cats. I look forward to seeing and learning more about rabbits and guinea pigs and all the other furries working here at Companion Care. I endeavour to be helpful and caring to everyone I meet.
I grew up on a family farm and still love to be surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes. Outside of work I enjoy being with my family and looking after our pet guinea pig Squeak.
Hollye began her nursing career in 2006 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2011. She loves all aspects that her role offers and couldn’t imagine doing any other job. In her spare time she likes cooking and backing which involves satisfying her partner’s sweet tooth. She enjoys taking her black Labrador Maverick for walks and has three cats Jess, Charlie and Clarence which she has re-homed to keep the dog company.
Veterinary Care Assistant
In 2007 I graduated from University College Dublin with a BSc in Zoology, following this I went on and achieved a MSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Queens University Belfast. I have extensive experience working with animals and have volunteered in rescue centres across the country. I have always had a passion for animals and am thrilled to be working with Companion Care Vets.
Veterinary Care Assistant
I have a Jack Russell called Ollie and a cat called Robert.
I’ve been a receptionist for 5 years previously working for a local furniture company. I joined Companion Care Vets as I have a real love for animals and want to make a difference in their and their owner’s lives. At home I have a wonderful little boy Corey and two step children Adam and Holly. I love walking and socialising and spending time with my family.
Nicola joined Companion Care Vets in the Lisburn store after working as a receptionist for a charitable organisation. Nicola loves all animals especially dogs – the bigger the better! She has a large black Labrador retriever called Sonny.
Outside of work Nicola enjoys watching her two sons play sport – David at Rugby and Jonny at Hockey.
