I qualified in 1999 from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. In my first ten years as a Vet I have been fortunate to have worked in small and large animal surgeries in both South Africa and the UK and also done a small amount of wildlife work.  I always knew that I wanted to run my own practice and I jumped at the chance to take on Derby Companion Care in 2005. In the years that I’ve been here the team has gone from strength to strength. I work with a very dedicated nursing and reception team and we now have a vet, Heather, who has a special interest in exotic pets, and she revels in treating all manner of weird and wonderful animals. I have two dogs, Nugget and Chilli. I like to spend my spare time with my beautiful wife and two daughters and I enjoy walking, running and cycling in the Peak District.
