Sinead Ennis MVB MRCVS
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
Sinead came over from Dublin in 2002 having graduated as a vet with a keen interest in small animal surgery. She first came to work for Charlton Companion Care in 2004, and very quickly fell in love with London and knew she would be here to stay. In 2006 Sinead took the opportunity to invest in the practice and has really enjoyed developing a relationship with her patients and their owners. Sinead is really proud to be able to offer a warm, friendly and professional service with a high standard of veterinary care.
Sinead has recently been joined by Fraggle, a three legged lurcher, who was brought into the surgery following an unfortunate accident. Fraggle spends a lot of time in the surgery and enjoys being looked after by Sinead, also being a happy member of the team. If you haven’t visited the surgery yet, then please pop in and say hello!
Rachel Maier BVM&S MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Since qualifying from Edinburgh University in 1999 Rachel has spent all but one year in UK Small Animal Practice. The year away was spent teaching vet students in China, where Rachel developed a keen interest in exotic pets since qualifying 10 years ago and has a special interest in birds. Paw Paw, Rachel’s cat, is often treated to melodic renditions as she plays on her saxophone. Rachel is currently on maternity leave, but working on the occasional Saturday.
Kishor Mahind BVSc & AH MRSc MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Kishor graduation 10 years ago in Bombay, India and since then has worked with small animals and horses in India, Malaysia and the UK.
Prior to starting with our team in October 2010, Kishor worked for a UK animal charity in which he saw a wide variety of animals and found it greatly enriched his experience of being a vet.
He has keen interests in ultrasound, orthopaedics and ophthamology of small animals.
At home he enjoys being with his wife and two sons and will often visit theme parks for the thrill rides. He also enjoys spending time on his favourite gadgets!
Philippa Maclennan BVMS MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Philippa joined the practice in December 2011. She graduated nearly 10 years ago from Glasgow University, and shortly after she joined a practice in Stratford upon Avon as a small animal vet. Phillipa moved to Australia after meeting her husband over there, and worked in a large veterinary practice on the north shore of Sydney for 6 years, where they carried out many scans and also performed dialysis for kidney patients.
After having 2 children (Luke and Lucy) she decide to move back to the UK with her husband and work on a part time basis.
Jennifer Hegarty MVB MRCVS

Natalie Blake RVN
Head Veterinary Nurse
Natalie started her nursing career in a small practice in 2002 and after qualifying in 2008, went on to work for both an animal hospital and a cat only practice.
Like Shani she also joined Charlton in October 2010 as our Head nurse and the practices clinical coach, a role required to train student veterinary nurses.
She has a strong interests in both feline behaviour and pet nutrition.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Daniel, looking after her 2 cats, Georgie and Holly as well as running and rowing. Natalie has now happily taken on Fathead (our surgery cat) and plans to move to a new house soon with a big garden for him to explore.
Shani Allen RVN
Veterinary Nurse
Shani always wanted to become a veterinary nurse since she saw the Rolf Harris, Animal hospital TV show, when she was 10 years old.
Her nursing career started in a practice in Kent in 2005. She studied a national diploma in animal management and recently became a qualified veterinary nurse before joining our team at Charlton in October 2010. She hopes to further develop her nursing skills and her keen interest in exotic pets!
At home she has a border collie called Amber, cat Poppie, a bearded dragon called Bernard and Bob the rabbit
Emma Duhig RVN
Veterinary Nurse
Emma has always loved animals from an early age. Her dedication was clear when she graduated from her 4 year training at Middlesex university with a Bsc Honours degree in Veterinary Nursing.
She has gained invaluable skills in her previous practices around Kent, North Harrow and Essex.
Emma joined Companion care as a locum nurse in Autumn 2010 and liked us so much, she decided to be a permanent member of our team!
Emma has a particular intetests in dentistry and exotic animals.
At home she lives with her hamster called Marge and her tropical fish.
Emma is currently travelling and will return to the surgery in July 2012
Caroline Lambe
Student Veterinary Nurse
Caroline has worked with animals for 16 years and has a special interest in surgical and emergency nursing. She joined us in 2006 having spent the previous 13 years working with animal charities.
Caroline is now in the final year of her veterinary nurse training and we all look forward to her passing her exams in 2011.
Caroline is currently on maternity leave.
Felicity Christensen
Student Veterinary Nurse
Felicity joined our team in July 2011. She is currently in her first year at college to become a qualified veterinary nurse. She has one cat at home called Jinx. She has a keen interest in all animals especially cats. Outside of work she studies hard and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Monigue Van Den Berg
Veterinary Care Assistant
Monique joined the practice in March 2012. She is current at college doing an Animal Nursing Assistant course which she will be completing in July 2012. Following this she should be starting her Nursing studies in January 2013.
Monique loves animals and feels privileged to be working with them every day.
She use to have pets at home, but sadly she is unable to keep any at the accommodation she is currently living.
Sam Buckland
Receptionist
Samantha has a strong passion for animals and decided to enrol at Hadlow College in Mottingham. Here she completed a first diploma in animal care and went onto do her national diploma in animal management. Samantha first started work at the Pets at Home in Charlton but was delighted to secure a position with our reception team back in January 2008. Since working with us samantha has completed a certificate in Pet Loss Support In Veterinary Practice for our bereaved pet owners and continues to take on new challenges. At home Samantha has a Husky cross called Diesel, two cats called Molly and Jess and two rabbits called Floss and Louie.
Joanne Delahoy
Receptionist
Jo has been with us since November 2011. First coming to us on a temporary basis, Jo was offered a permanent position with the team which she happily accepted. Jo joined the veterinary profession eleven years ago when she left the world of publishing and marketing to become a vet receptionist. Having completed short courses in animal care at Bromley College (Introduction to Veterinary Nursing Stages 1 and 2, and First Aid for Animals) Jo combined her organisational skills and love of animals to find her dream job. She has worked in both a large animal hospital and in two smaller practices, and loves looking after pets and their owners. Jo has a particular passion for cats and is extremely interested in animal behaviour.
