Regular health checks will give you the confidence that all is well with your pet. However, it will also help in detecting the early signs of disease where prompt intervention and veterinary treatment can help your pet live a long, healthy and happy life.

The Pet MOT is important because not only will there be a through physical examination of your pet where you will be asked many questions about your pet’s behaviour and activity but there will also be a laboratory analysis of your pet’s blood and urine.  

This analysis will provide the practice team with a window into the body of your pet providing them with essential information on a variety of medical conditions such as:
•    Hormone disorders which may be the cause of weight gain or loss
•    Early onset of diseases such as diabetes, or problems with kidneys or liver
•    Early signs of some types of cancers

In summary this blood and urine analysis will provide your pet with the following benefits:
•    Peace of mind that all is well with your pet
•    It will provide your pet with a ‘baseline’ set of test results which your vet can use for comparison in future examinations
•    If there is a problem, early detection will mean that treatment can begin right away
