Chaim Pilosof
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated from Utrecht University in Holland in 2000. My wife and I initially moved to Lincolnshire, before opening Cambridge Companion Care vet surgery in 2005. We love working together and very much enjoy meeting and greeting the pets and their owners. At home we have two cats; Lily and Rosie.
Ruty Pilosof
Joint Venture Partner and Practice Manager
Ruty is no stranger to healthcare. She’s a qualified radiographer/ sonographer (albeit on the human side), and spent 10 years working in a children’s hospital in Utrecht, Holland.
She is sharing the partnership of the Companion Care surgery with Chaim, taking care of the day to day management of the practice. Ruty is a great organiser and runs the practice like clockwork.
Fiona Pelah BSc BA VetMB MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
A graduate from Cambridge University in 1993, Fiona has wealth of experience from various small animal practices in East Anglia. She joined Companion Care 11 years ago, sharing her time between Cambridge & our neighbouring practice in Ely. Since 2005 she is with us, working part-time. Fiona enjoys all aspects of general practice.
Sophie Van Wijk
Veterinary Surgeon
Sophie was born in the Netherlands & moved with her family to Spain at the age of 12. in 2010 she graduated as a vet from Autonomous University in Barcelona, & continued with a Master degree in dog & cat behaviour at the same university. Following her boyfriend, Sophie moved to Cambridge & joined us in May 2011.
Sophies pets are a black & white kitten called Pluk, and a rescue crow!
Constanza Gomez Alvarez
Veterinary Surgeon
Constanza graduated in Chile in 1999. She worked several years in academia and with horses and has a PhD in biomechanics from Utrecht University, The Netherlands. She moved to Cambridge a year ago with her husband and after passing the MRCVS examinations started working with us. She is IVAS veterinary acupuncturist and loves working with companion animals. She has a Bichon Frisse cross dog of 14 years old called Francia.
Sara Westin
Veterinary Surgeon
Following her graduation from Budapest Vet School in 2008, Sara did a fellowship in orthopedics at the University of California, USA. Subsequently she moved back to her hometown in Sweden, to work in a referral hospital for 3 years. in September 2011 Sara & her boyfriend moved to Cambridge, and she joined our practice in January 2012. Sara's loveley dog Isola is 9 years old. Having been rescued by Sara in Budapest, she since then travelled all over the world with her.
Georgie Foster RVN
Veterinary Nurse
Georgie is a qualified Veterinary nurse since 2006, & has joined our practice following long periods of placement with us during her training. She is very interested in anaesthetics & critical care, and also in nutrition & weight management.
At home Georgie has got her hands full with Meg the Labrador & Mynxi the cat, & not to forget her daughters Molly & Neroli.
Caroline Hawkins RVN
Veterinary Nurse
Caroline joined us in 2007, and has recently won a Personal Achievement award from the College of Animal Welfare, rewarding her hard work- we are all very proud of her!
Caroline shares her home with her cat Fagan, whom she rescued at the age of 6 weeks, & has now grown into a rubber-band eating tiger.
Kirsten Laidlaw
Student Vet Nurse
Kirsten joined the team in February 2011, all the way from lovely Scotland. She has been a system engineering technician in the British Armed Forces since 2006, leaving her position as a Lance Corporal to pursue her passion- working with animals. Kirsten is looking forward to start her nursing training at the college.
Louise Brown
Vet Nurse Assitant
Louise joint us in March 2011. she is very passionate about animal welfare & has a lot of experience with domestic pets, horses and even cows!. Louise has recently returned from a year of travelling abroad, where she volunteered working with horses. She is now looking forward to start her Veterinary Nursing training at the college.

Denise White
Head Vet Receptionist
Denise has been working in the veterinary industry since 2004, and joined us as Head of Reception in January 2012. She is very passionate about animals and spend a lot of her free time re-homing stray cats and dogs via charities such as the Cats Protection and Rescue Centres.
At home Denise has three cats, two rabbits and a Jack Russell called Sparky.
Leyla Koksal
Vet Receptionist
Leyla joined the practice in June 2010 and loves her job. Leyla grew up around animals ranging from dogs, cats, rabbits, rats and fish. She has a leopard gecko lizard called Eva and hopes to have a male soon.
Rachel Fleming-Jones
Vet Receptionist
From a young age Rachel was an animal lover,& dreamt about working with them. She was delighted to join our team in June 2010 as a receptionist. Rachel has a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Casper.She is very artistic and makes beautiful drawings.
