I have been a vet for over 20 years since graduating from The University College, Dublin in 1987. In that time I have worked for small animal and equine practices in the UK. I have also travelled across Australia, which gave me the chance to work with a whole host of 'critters'. In 2008 I opened Companion Care Bristol Filton in July. I'm a keen bird watcher and live near Bristol with my partner and our two children.

Denise Dodge
Veterinary Nurse

Denise qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1981. She moved from Newcastle upon Tyne to the Bristol and Bath area in 1983, joining us here at Bristol Filton when the surgery opened in July 2008.  She has a City and Guilds certificate in small animal nutrition, a Btec Intermediate Diploma in client care and a BVNA certificate in companion animal behaviour. Denise is also a Hills veterinary healthcare advisor and Pet Plan insurance advisor.  Denise especially enjoys running our puppy parties and nurse clinics where she is happy to give advice on feeding, behaviour, weight and all aspects of animal care. Denise and her husband share their house with their 2 cats Morris and Austin and a Jack Russell terrier cross called Bonzo.

Danielle has been with the practice since it opened in July 2008.  She has a Btec National Diploma in Animal Management which she studied from 2004 to 2006 at Bristol Zoo.  Danielle is a Pet Plan insurance advisor.  She has a Cavalier King Charles spaniel called Ruby, a cat called Pebbles and 2 Roborovski hamsters.  Danielle is looking forward to training as a Veterinary Nurse in the future.

Laura Kingscott
Receptionist (part time)
Laura has been with us since the beginning as our part-time receptionist. Laura is a Pet Plan insurance advisor.  She owns Max a Syrian hamster, Mia an albino corn snake and Mya a royal python.  Laura hopes to add a cat to her collection in the future.

Ann Luton
Receptionist (part time - morning)
Ann is our morning receptionist and has been with us since the practice opened in July 2008.  She previously worked in the Pharmacy department for the NHS.  Ann is a Pet Plan insurance advisor.  She shares her home in Winterbourne with her husband and is owned by Roxy the cat!

 
Catherine Part
Receptionist (part time - evening)
Catherine is the latest addition to our team, joining us in July 2009 having previously worked as a receptionist in London. She has recently attended Bridgwater College, where she studied horticulture at Diploma level. Catherine is also interested in agriculture, farming and horses. She assists with lambing on an organic farm and gets involved in crop production. Catherine has owned cocker spaniels and a cat for many years but sadly is without either at present. However she enjoys meeting all of the dogs, cats and other animals that come into the practice.
