Vet Tom Mowlem Joint Venture Partner, Bournemouth
Tom started work in a rural mixed practice based in south Somerset before joining Companion Care in 1998 - opening the Poole branch before moving to the Bournemouth surgery in 2000. He became a JVP in 2002. Tom really enjoys the everyday hustle and bustle of general small animal practice and understanding the relationships between pet and owner. He has one dog – a border terrier called Buddy, and 2 rabbits.
In his spare time he enjoy driving and restoring vintage and classic cars, mountain biking, playing rugby and spending time with his four young children. His most recent surgery in Christchurch opened in November 2009, in partnership with Debbie Clarke.

Vet Debbie Clarke BVSc MRCVS JVP Bournemouth

Debbie joined Companion Care Bournemouth in 2003 following her previous job in Hertfordshire and joined Tom as a JVP in April 2009. In November 2009, she teamed up with Tom again to open the Christchurch surgery.

Debbie runs the Christchurch surgery and is qualified to perform acupuncture on pets - she also has interests in rabbit medicine and surgery. She has three cats and a collection of chameleons and corn snakes.  In her spare time she enjoys researching and breeding corn snakes and chameleons, keeping fit at the local gym, skiing and horse riding.

Sarah Cowan Veterinary Surgeon Companion Care Christchurch
Sarah joined Companion Care in September 2009 after a brief spell locuming. Sarah did an extra year at vet school to gain a BSc in animal behaviour and welfare. She is looking forward to assisting enhancing the pet owner bond. Sarah has two chocolate Labradors, a 12 year old horse, two guinea pigs, a cat and lots of fish. In her spare time she breeds Labradoodles, enjoys horse riding, walking, swimming and has recently taken up snowboarding.

Ashley Sykes Veterinary Surgeon Companion Care Christchurch
Ashley graduated from the Royal Veterinery College and joined Companion Care in 2011.  He enjoyes treating cats and dogs, but also has a particular interest in exotics.  At home he keeps reptiles, fish and invertebrates.  Ashley says he finds surgery, anaesthesia and cardiology the most interesting part of the job.  In his spare time he is a keen photographer and has just started a marine aquarium.












Rachel Tucker BVSc MRCVS

Rachel joined Companion Care in April 2011, after spending two years in smal animal practice in Poole.  She graduated at the same time as Sarah Cowan from Bristol in 2009 and has a keen interest in everything feline.  Rachel has her own 9 year old Havana "Jasmine" and a very bouncy mini Labradoodle, "Kira" as well as lots of small tropical fish.  She is a very keen gamer, loves driving and going to track days.  Rachel also enjoys challenges, her most recent being trying to learn Japanese in her spare time.









Donna Mace RVN

Donna has recently started at Companion Care Bournemouth following a spell as a locum nurse after the birth of her 1st child. She is interested in all aspects of the vet nursing job with particular interests in critical care and anaesthesia. Donna is also an NVQ assessor. At home she has one jack Russell terrier called Tilly. Away from work Donna enjoys time at home with her son and making cakes.

Holli joined Companion Care in October after completing her nurse training at Priory Vet Group. Holli enjoys all aspects of nursing and has a particular interest in rehabilitation physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. At home she has three cats - Lilly, Poppy and Daisy and enjoys keeping fit going out with her friends and spending time with her 3 nephews.

Lorna joined Companion Care having previously worked for the PDSA in Bournemouth and Black Dragon emergency service. She loves all aspects of nursing but has a special interest in critical care and canine behaviour. At home she has one cat called Rosie, and enjoys making bridal jewellery and tiaras, learning Spanish and is learning to play the guitar.

Courtney joined Companion Care as weekend receptionist in 2006 and we has just completed her 1sy year of veterinary nurse training. She is enjoying learning about all aspects of veterinary nursing and at home Courtney lives with a pack of  Newfoundlands, a Samoyed, a Sussex spaniel  and several cats and rabbits. Courtney is very busy looking after all her animals but still finds time to enjoy a good read.

Jess joined the practice as receptionist in 2008. She has progressed to student veterinary nurse with her training commencing in  September 2009. Jess lives with her own cat and dog as well as regular foster dogs from local dog charities. She enjoys horse riding, nights out and working with rescue dogs from local dog charities.
