Vet Chris McGougie MRCVS JVP Bishopbriggs

.I completed an Honours Degree in Microbiology & Immunology before moving on to Glasgow Vet School and qualifying as a vet in 2004. I have worked in a variety of mixed practices but for the last 3 years I have worked purely with small animals.
I feel that this range of experience has given me the drive and ambition to run my own practice and I am delighted to team up with Companion Care and bring a new Veterinary Surgery to Bishopbriggs.I enjoy all aspects of working as a vet and have a particular interest in internal medicine and exotics. I am currently studying for a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with which I aim to deliver an excellent service to the patients and clients of Companion Care Bishopbriggs. Outside of work I love spending time with my wife, our son and baby daughter.  I enjoy natural history, walking in the country and distance running if the time allows.

Vet Rebecca McGaugie MRCVS Companion Care Vets Bishopbriggs

I graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2004 having previously obtained a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Aberdeen. Having worked exclusively as a small clinician I am looking forward to bringing this experience to Companion Care Bishopbriggs. I particularly enjoy soft tissue surgery, dermatology and small furry medicine. Having a young son and new baby daughter takes up most of my spare time but we enjoy walking, swimming and trips to the countryside.

I graduated from Glasgow University in 2005.  Since this time I have worked entirely in small animal practice within the UK. I enjoy all aspects of Veterinary medicine but have a particular interest in soft tissue surgery.
I am very excited to be part of the brand new surgery in Bishopbriggs. I hope that alongside Chris and the team, we can provided an excellent service to all our clients.
Outside work I enjoy dog walking(with my scruffy but loveable terrier), keep fit and have recently started to play the piano

Gemma Hannah
Senior Veterinary Nurse

Gemma Hannah Senior Veterinary Nurse Companion Care Vets Bishopbriggs

I have worked as a veterinary nurse in small animal practice for over 8 years, more recently moving to a specialist referral clinic specialising in emergency and critical care nursing. My main areas of interest are in emergency and critical care, internal medicine and anaesthesia. I am currently undertaking the city and guilds certificate in exotic veterinary nursing, which I hope will broaden my knowledge of exotics.
Away from work I have 2 dogs, Stella and Ollie, 2 cats, Chino and Mr Kitty and 2 chinchillas, Boo and Gonzales, who take up most of my spare time. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, walking the dogs, reading and playing the drums...enthusiastically if not professionally.

Sophie Noble
Nurse Assistant

Sophie Noble Vets Nurse Assistant, Bishopbriggs, Companion Care Vets, Inside Pets at Home
I have a varied background of animal experience from dog behaviour and equine, to working on a farm dedicated to rescuing livestock. I have worked in animal emergency and critical care and I am now enjoying the ins and outs of general practice. I’m really excited about starting my veterinary nursing qualification and plan to expand my knowledge of canine behaviour throughout my career.
However, my Norwegian forest cat Gigi, always out smarts me.

Elaine Donaldson
Vet Receptionist

Having spent most of my working career in finance it is quite a change (albeit a pleasant one) to be working in a vet practice however when I was telling friends about my new position they all said that it was the perfect  job for me.
We have had dogs in the family for most of my life and currently have a Westie called Robbie who is 11 years old and Monty who is a Black Lab Cross who is 7 years old.
My husband and I have been very lucky to visit many different countries abroad and most recently Dubai, New Zealand and Australia however over the last few years we have been taking our dogs on holiday with us enjoying the Scottish countryside and weather!!!
I am enjoying this new career and meeting all the animals that visit the practice however I have been warned by my husband ‘not to bring my work home with me’ so far so good but it is early days. So watch this space, I am sure that there will be some pup/ dog that needs a good home sometime soon.

Clare Quinn, Receptionist Companion Care Vets Bishopbriggs
Claire has a great love for animals, so working for Companion Care vet surgery gave her a fantastic opportunity to be around a wide range of animals. Claire enjoys spending time with family and friends & family but especially loves spending time with her 4 year old Lhasa Apso called Anton. Anton loves going out walks and playing in the garden with his toys.
