Welcome to the new face of veterinary care – Companion Care Vets Beckton. I am the practice principle and have been involved with the surgery since 2002. After starting my career as an equine veterinarian for performance horses, I have moved into small animal medicine and surgery. A Sydney University graduate, the most common question I am asked is ‘What are you doing in rainy London?’ Other than the fact that London rocks with long summer days and is the epicentre for music and performance acts, I am only 3 hours away from most of the best ski slopes in Europe. Besides the grass is greener where it rains. Bringing my no-nonsense and easy-going approach, I am building a vibrant veterinary team to provide a new brand of veterinary care to East London.

Head Veterinary Nurse
Angela joined the Companion Care team in April 2003 as a weekend receptionist. She then became a part-time member of the nursing team before becoming a full time member in 2006, and more recently,  was promoted to the position of head veterinary nurse.   Angela especially enjoys working with and caring for all the pets that come through our clinic.  She has 4 cats; Missy, Poppy, Fidget, and Breezer (who she hand-reared in 2003) and also has a partially sighted, toothless  guinea pig, who lives with her boyfriend.  Outside of work, Angela enjoys watching films and spending time with her friends.

Myra joined Companion Care in January 2008 as a part time nurse assistant . On week days she attended sixth form studying Art, English lit and Pyschology A-levels. After finishing her final exams , she decided that she wanted to train as a veterinary nurse and so became a full time member of staff in September 2008. She will soon be studying at the college of animal welfare to become a qualified veterinary nurse.  She has 4 cats Mr.Puss, Tink, Bella and Malibu, and two rabbits - cookie and fudge. She loves working with animals and in her spare time she enjoys travelling, driving and general socialising.

Georgina Wyard
Veterinary Nurse Assistant/ Receptionist
Georgina Joined Companion Care in February 2008 as a part-time receptionist, prior to which she worked  in fashion for 5 years,  as a CAD/CAM pattern cutter for some of the major high street stores as well as up and coming designers. In August 2009 she started to train as an animal nursing assistant and is due to start a distant learning based course with the College of Animal Welfare. Georgina’s hobbies include Reading, knitting and restoring her 1965 Mini Traveller. Her menagerie of pets includes five dogs, which go by the names of Marley, Cooper, Skye, Foxy Lady and Doenut, ten cats, Knuckles, Fleabe, Rumpleteaser, Chilli, Figaro, Tawny, Jaws, Buddha, Faulkes and Malakie, a rabbit called Mink and a tortoise called Crusty Pie.

Client Liaison/ Head Receptionist
Lisa has been employed with Companion Care Beckton since August 2004.  She previously held secretarial and administrative positions but never felt rewarded in her work so decided a change in career was in order.  Lisa loves animals and has 2 cats of her own, Mr Jingles (let’s see who can guess what film the name is from?), who is the love of her life, and Ronnie, who has just joined her family.  In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym and then undoing all her hard work by eating and drinking a lot on the weekend.
