Our Team
Your vet is Trevor Duckham MRCVS
Joint Venture Partner & Veterinary Surgeon
.
I arrived in April, joining the well structured and motivated team at Ashton under Lyne, dedicated to providing good quality veterinary services together with friendly and approachable client care. My main interests in the veterinary field are working with the owners to provide the best care and attention to their pets across the welfare spectrum. Outside of veterinary work, my interests are conservation, enjoying the beautiful countryside in all its aspects and food. I live with my wife Deborah and Pet Therapy black Labrador, Impi.

Daniel Alcazar MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Daniel graduated from Complutense University in Madrid in 1993. Having worked in various small animal practices for over 16 years.
I bring a lot of experience to Ashton Companion Care. In my spare time I like to mountain bike as much as possible.

Steve Hall-Patch MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Steve qualified from Cambridge University Vet School in 1973 and spent the first ten years of his career working in mixed practice, dealing with farm animals and horses before moving mainly towards domestic pets. Apart from a three year break from practice in the late 80s when he worked as a Veterinary Services Manager for the UK division of an international company, Steve has spent his career entirely in general veterinary practice. In recent years he has focussed on pet animals, and helped to develop a Veterinary Hospital in West Yorkshire with three other vets. Steve has been working for Companion Care since 2006 and spends most of his time at the Ashton-under-Lyne surgery where he is to be found most Weekends and Mondays. His interests are dog and cat medicine, and orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.
In his leisure time Steve enjoys, walking, golf, scuba diving and skiing. He has three grown up children and lives in Yorkshire with his wife, cat and three chickens.
Elaine McLaughlin VN
Veterinary Nurse
Elaine has been with the practice since 2007, and was a welcome addition to the team with 17 years previously spent at an orthopaedic referral practice. Elaine loves all animals and is particularly interested in pet behavioural problems. She’s looking forward to moving house and then being able to get a dog! In the meantime she keeps herself busy with horse riding, socialising and walking in the Peak District.

Debbie Walker VN
Veterinary Nurse
Although Debbie qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2003 she actually has a whopping 24 years experience within veterinary healthcare. She enjoys meeting and caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. Her favourite animals – horses – sadly don’t venture into Ashton Companion Care for obvious reasons. However she gets to see lots of horses at the weekend when she rides her horse and watches her daughter compete at shows.

Hannah Beth Johnson
Veterinary Nurse Assistant
I joined the team last august and although I haven’t been here long I’ve learnt very much and brought some experience from my previous job at a kennels. I enjoy working with such a nice group of people and as I love animals I find my job very interesting.
I also have a dog of my own, a German Spitz named Kela and I have recently got a hamster named Linford as he doesn’t stop running on his wheel! In my spare time I enjoy running and socialising with friends, I live at home with my mum sue, kela and Linford.
Annette Heaney
Client Service Co-ordinator
Fiona White
Receptionist
.
Fiona is a relative newcomer to the team, who joined us in 2008. With 5 years’ retail experience and an NVQ in Retail and Customer Service she’s been winning over our clients and their pets with her charming ways and friendly smile. She finds the role very interesting and varied. With a busy life away from work - socialising and going to watch bands - Fiona has so far resisted the urge to get her own pet!
Linda Barton
Receptionist
After three years of early retirement Linda decided to return to work to something which would be a completely different new career. From a Banking Advisor to a Veterinary Receptionist this position would be Linda’s new challenge.
“I feel that I have chosen the right path for a new career, the position is just so wonderful to do, very rewarding, no two days are the same with smiles and tears, it’s so nice to be there for the pet owners and provide the service they expect to receive from a front desk employee. Companion Care is a wonderful company to work for and all the team at the Ashton branch are lovely to work with. My favourites are the puppies, I just cannot resist cuddling them, it puts a big smile on my face and one day I want to have one of my own.”
Carrie Drameh
Receptionist
I have worked at companion Care Ashton since August 2011, joining with 5 years receptionist experience. Whilst working here I have gained an NVQ in customer service.
The best part of my job is meeting new clients and their pets! Each day is different and never boring! I love interacting with all the patients but
My biggest interest is in British Bulldogs, which I have bred for many years. I have 2 at home, Ruby and Betty and I hope to show these in 2013.
